The Awesome Arts Creative Challenge is a year-round program that celebrates the creativity of young people living in regional and remote Western Australia. Each year, professional artists undertake residencies in remote communities, working with local young people to develop art projects that explore both individual identity and collective community stories.

The program is strongly process-driven: participants engage in research, conceptual development, and the creation of artworks that express what makes their community unique. Selected works are later showcased in the annual Creative Challenge Exhibition.

Angela has contributed to three Creative Challenge residencies as a visiting artist: Mount Magnet (2017), CAPS Kurrawang (2018), and Onslow (2019).
